I thought the story was, Dylan saw a Beatles concert and talked to them afterwards, challenging them to write meaningful songs. Also, he was supposedly inspired by their concert to go electric. Wasn't it also said that he was tired of being the "spokesman for a generation" as a folk singer, which was a big reason he went electric?
